Ukraine: Beer production is forecast to increase by 10% in 2006
In 2006 beer production in Ukraine may increase by 10% compared to 2005 and reach 26 million hl, ZAO Ukrpivo communicated on January 16. In 2005 Ukrainian breweries produced about 23.7 million hl of beer that is by 23% compared to 2004. Meanwhile, Ukrpivos experts are forecasting that in 2005 Ukraine is to export about 2.45 million hl.
ZAO Ukrpivo gathers about 40 beer companies, which manufacture about 70% of beer produced in Ukraine. According to Ukrpivo, the volume of Ukrainian beer market is to account around 23 million hl when in 2005 it came to 21.2 million hl.
